My neighbor made a very good point the other day. "We're letting companies charge us $30 and more to monitor our homes for protection against home invasions. When it'll be way easier for us to look after each other by becoming the neighborhood's eyes and ears." He's right. There's a huge market for being "un-Neighborly". If we were all more vigilante and neighborly, crooks would have a more difficult time doing what they do. I have nothing against security systems. But we should back it up with community involvement.
